A Senior Research Fellow for Artists' Books at the Centre for Fine Print Research (CFPR), where she runs research projects investigating and promoting contemporary book arts. She is the author of Creating Artists’ Books, the editor of the Artist's Book Yearbook a biennial reference publication on contemporary book arts, and The Blue Notebook journal for artists’ books. She also writes a regular column on artists’ books for the ARLIS News-Sheet, and the journal Printmaking Today.
Her recent artists’ books include Cherry Blossom Island Tree with Tom Sowden (2009), An Exercise for Kurt Johannessen (2010) and Toast (2011).

Codex event 8. Artists’ residency, 2011 Queensland, College of Art in Brisbane, Australia. Codex event 8, initiated by Tim Mosely, was a collaboration between Australian and UK printmakers & papermakers making artists’ books: Sarah Bodman, Monica Oppen, Paul Laidler, Tim Mosely and Tom Sowden. The collaboration was stimulated by Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari’s text on Smooth and Striated space in A Thousand Plateaus, and exhibited at POP Gallery, Brisbane in October 2011.

Invited curator for THE WORLD AS TEXT, a summer reading room at The Center for Book and Paper Arts, Columbia College Chicago, USA. A hybrid space designed to amplify connections between the action of reading and the activity of performance, the reading room featured contemporary artists’ books, zines, exhibition catalogues and alternative publications selected by over 15 guest curators including Doro Boehme, Tate Shaw, James Goggin, Sarah Bodman, New Berlin, Temporary Services, Steve Clay and more. THE WORLD AS TEXT was curated to amplify the connections between book practices and interdisciplinary art making. 16/06/11-12/08/11
