Andrzej Marian Bartczak
Born in 1945 in Kutno. Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, Faculty of Textile. Graduated with distinction in 1969. A professor at the Academy of Fine Arts (Faculty of Graphic and Painting) and at the College of Liberal Arts and Economy (Faculty of Art) in Łódź. Makes prints, drawings, paintings, tapestries, objects and books. Won numerous awards, distinctions and medals both in art competitions and for his achievements as artist and art teacher (3 times awarded by the Minister of Culture and Art, among others). Has taken part in hundreds of national and international exhibitions, has had over one hundred one-man shows in Poland and abroad. Since 1995 has been taking part in Book Art Festival. His works are in collections of National Museum in Warsaw, National Library in Warsaw, Museum of Art in Łódź, Jagiellonian Library in Kraków, Ossolineum in Wrocław, Stanford University Library, in Moscow, Vienna, Dresden and many other museums.
